Besides death and taxes, one other immutable fact of life is that a vintage computer collector is never satisfied with his collection.

I am interested in almost anything computer related from the early 1980s and before. I am most interested in older CP/M and S-100 systems and related software as well as computer related literature of all kinds (books, magazines, advertisements, pamphlets, brochures, club newsletters, etc.)

I am specifically looking for the following:

  • Any and all information and documentation I can get about the Kenbak-1
  • Issues of Popular Computing (newsletter) that I don't have
  • A.N.A.L.O.G. Magazine issues 1 and 5, so I can complete my set.
  • Softalk PC Vol 1.1 and 1.2 (June 1982 and July 1982)
  • Any old issues of S-100, 80 micro or any Apple or Commodore magazines
  • S-100 cards, systems, software, manuals, books and catalogs.
  • Any CompuColor equipment, software or documentation
  • Virtually any SWTPC computer stuff
  • MITS products, literature and software. I'm especially interested in an 8800B (full front panel) to "complete" my collection.
  • Ithaca Intersystems DPS-1 - especially one with the dual 8" drive, software and docs.
  • An APF Imagination Machine.
  • A Mattel Intellivision Computer Console.
  • A Datapoint 2200 (I used to program these way, way back in the day.
  • Cosmac Elf or other 1801/1802 systems.
  • Early Intellec systems.
  • Any MCM (Micro Computer Machines) systems.
  • Working KIM-1, SYM-1 or other early SBCs.
  • Poly-88/Micro Altair.
  • IMSAI VDP 80 and 8048.
  • Sinclair ZX-80
  • Grid Compass or other early Grid systems.
  • And since I'm dreaming I'd love an Apple I, a Scelbi and a Micral. . .

If you happen to have any old computer equipment, documentation, software, cards, parts, books, magazines or other related items lying around collecting dust or taking up valuable space, please consider donating said items to a collector who might be able to make use of them and who will be unlikely to ever discard them.

I cleaned the garage and have a lot of old computer stuff (HW and SW). Much of it is Apple (I worked for Apple a long time ago). Some of it is in a sealed unopened box. I am trying to figure out what to do with all of it. For example: Apple II+, Newton, QuickTake, Performa 6400, Powerbook 3400, G3 Firewire, G4 12, G4 15, ibook G3, DOS card ... All still working so it seems like a waste to recycle it all. I wouldn't mind bringing it to a collector, museum or someone who would use it. I've played with them a bunch so I feel like I should find them a good home.

Hi, I have an IBM Power Series 800 AIX notebook computer .. complete with power supply. The keyboard is not US English, but the condition of the display and the keyboard is top notch. The outside of the case is a little damaged. The SCSI HDD and CDROM are both present.

I've booted it before, and installed AIX 4.2.1 on it (the last version that did install). But, I haven't used it in years - since I don't have a network adapter that works in it, kind of difficult to hook into this new fangled Internet thing.

I just wonder if there is any interest in it .. I am in the UK, so I wouldn't be willing to pay the shipping to anyone, but if you do, I will package it nicely and send it off to someone who might make use of it, or just stick it on the shelf. Let me know .. I can boot it, put pictures up on a suitable site and so on. If no interest, then, well there is no interest.

If you're not in New York City, maybe I can ship, but I would like to part with all of it, and picking it up would be greatly preferred to shipping.

Hello!

I'm in the UK, and have just listed a batch of S-100 boards on eBay. There is one lot of 26x boards, along with 3x 8 floppy drives and various other bits & bobs. There is also an original IMSAI 8080 (MPU-A) board in a separate listing.

I've just spent half an hour looking through vintage computer websites, and this post has been posted to around 6 different sites - I'd like to see the boards go to someone who will get some use out of them!

Hopefully, someone might even get some use out of the listing, as every board is pictured and written up. The images of the boards can be found at the following link (the rest of the images are within the listings).

http://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x31/harrison_87/S-100%20Boards/?albumview=slideshow

I'm more than happy to send the boards worldwide, so get in touch (via eBay), if you need a quote.

Thanks guys - all the best,

Harry

I have an Intel Intellic system. I don't have it in front of me, but this is what I can remember:

* Intel Intellic computer * 13 monochrome monitor & keyboard * dual 8 floppy drive * 8080 in-circuit emulator * PROM programmer * hard drive unit /w 8 removable disk platters * documentation for the above (including schematics) * additional documentation (at least for a CP/M compiler)

What I don't have is ANY software. I don't even have a single 8 floppy. The OS ran (if I am correct) from the floppies, so I can't do more than power them on. I have had this system for over ten years, and I don't really have a place to set it up. I would love to play with it, but I really don't have the time or energy to devote to a machine that I don't have any software to run.

I am in the process of purchasing a collection of Vintage hardware. In the collection I am told there is approximately 25 S-100 cards, Mac (128k?), C-128, C-64, Apple III, Tandy 1500 HD Laptop, IBM 5160, Odessey video game system (Not Odessey2), Atari 2600, Atari 600/800 manuals/software (Not sure if the systems are in the collection) as well as quite a bit of documentation, software, and other stuff, I haven't seen it all yet, but it looks like a paradise :) Once I aquire the collection, I will be cataloging, photographing, and documenting what I have. While I will most likely be keeping most of the collection, there may be items showing up in the Marketplace.

If you're interested, consider signing up in the forum area and posting what you have, collect, want to donate or sell under the forum area or the local Marketplace for much more attention. I see a lot of very good items here that could get overlooked for those of us (ok, myself) that go straight to the forum to chat about vintage computers. ;-)

It's got 56K and a personality module, I still have the original Panasonic TV sold with it (still works) and the 5.25 diskette drives plus software. I can't bear to sell this old girl and I can't throw her away either - she needs a good home where she'll be appreciated and loved. First person to claim her gets the whole shebang, cpu, TV, diskette drives, tape player, all software, all manuals - we'll work out the shipping. My real vintage computers consist of several Texas Instruments Professionals - same vintage as the IBM PC and XT, but much better engineering and graphics displays. Wife made me put the real IBM pcs out on the curb a few years back.

The first computer I ever owned was an 8088 I picked up for $1.00 at a thrift store, but it was dead as a brick so it has been long gone. My parents gave me their IBM ps/2 286 to use, so I used it for a while then sold it for $20. I decided to get another one when I got the one I have. I see some older computers from time to time & snatch them up for cheap if I have the cash. I almost forgot, I also have an Atari 800XL that a garage sale was going to throw away so I took it off their hands.

It is a game you can set up to have up to 40 planets 1 of which is each players Home planet. You can set the number of turns, up to 20 I think, each planet has a randomly chosen production. The SYM-1 was the first computer I ever owned. I used it alone, and later with a Texas Instruments Silent-700 terminal (30 char/sec on to thermal paper). I still have the SYM and a good friend of mine has another one. I'm not looking to get rid of it, but I might be able to provide relevant information or fresh pictures. Big surprise: I'm an embedded systems developer.

Still in the original box, I have one of the IBM PC dual 5 1/4 models you have pictured. Had the monitor, but donated it to a friend in need. The keyboard is still with it as I recall, and I also found one of the optional 10 meg drives they used and placed it within the box as well. Looks brand new, not a scatch. If you or anyone else has an interest, contact me at said email addy and we'll discuss it. Still have many OS systems and program disks for said unit also.

You seem to be missing the Commodore Super Pet 9000 from your list. I still use its rs-232 port for dialup access to text only services (ie Telnet), with an external Hayes 2400 Smartmodem.

One of my many dinosaurs of the 'ole days, I also have the dual floppy unit (I tossed the cassette tape as soon as the files were transfered to floppy !! ) and an 8032 Pet as well... All in working condition. And who could forget the breakthrough in technology, one of the first Hayes 300 Baud external Modem (ran my bbs for years).

I am reluctantly offering a working Toshiba T3100e/40 portable computer.

http://www.old-computers.com/museum/doc.asp?c=917

As stated it does work and comes with the reference manual, AC Power cable and the padded carrying case.

I would love to keep it but I just don't have the space anymore. I'm hoping that there is a vintage computer collector out there that would like to add this machine to his/her collection. I definitely do not want to see this end up in the trash.

I am currently in Ithaca NY. The computer can be picked up or I can ship it to you if you pay for shipping.

I have an old Motorola 286 PC compatible dating back to the late 80's. I consider it significant because of the Macintosh (Motorola) vs. IBM PC (Intel) split that endured for so long. It was as far as I know Motorola's only foray into the PC side. I don't know how many were made. It works except it needs a new battery for the motherboard.

If anyone has any idea what this would be worth, please email me.

WOW! I remember assembling my DiGiComp too! And WOW! A Minivac 601?! Yes, I remember playing with that blue WOODEN BOX back in the early '60's: it had 6 relays instead of chips, a rotary event sequencer, lamps, switches and jumpers that plugged into metal eyelets to HOOK UP your first digital circuits! Then again, I remember a 1950's era American Basic Science Series experimenter's home computer made from brown masonite wood pegboard. It had masonite disks, of the same material, that you created 'programs' on by inserting brass jumpers into holes in concentric circles on the disk, then you mounted these disks with screws to the main pegboard so they rotated over strategically- inserted screw heads to make contact with wired- up lamp circuits! (The last I saw of this device was just the wooden disks at a garage sale where the owner had no idea what they were. To me they were like the Rosetta Stone! ..Memories...

I have a few pieces of SWTPC and Comart/Cromenco S-100 stuff which I will be prepared to 'let go' once I have my systems up and running. Meanwhile, I'm particularly interested in collecting S-100 and other CP/M kit - any of the well-known names, or even something like an old Intertec Superbrain. Anything with viable boot disks is doubly interesting as once you've got CP/M booted you can easily transfer other software via serial ports from another box. Anyone have something they'd like me to 'look after' ? Cheers, Kevin.

I have couple of Intertec SuperBrains. One does not work, the other did work last time I plugged it in. I don't have any software, just a boot CP/M disk, I think. I also have some Kaypros, a Visual 1050, TI 99/4a's Commodore Radio Shack Coco's, Macintosh, and Atari ST. machines. If anyone is interested I may sell cheap!

Regarding: I'm amazed that you don't have anything about the Amiga! You have Commodore up there, is that what you meant for the Amiga? I have an Amiga 4000 and an Amiga 500, both of which need pages set up. Also in the Commodore arena I have a C128 and an SX-64 that need pages. In short, I've fallen a little behind! :)

Hi!

You have a Very interesting website! It's nice to see and read about these computers from the first hour.

I, myself got a 386 computer, it's taking up dust, but, so far I still can't let it go, I guess i'm a sentimental 'fool' also :-)

I don't know if you are also interested in old memory simms? I've got a few 30 pins simms. how much memory they have I don't know I think it was about 2 or 4 Mb. If you are interested in these I can send you some, just let know I also got some old cards (video, IDE)

Kind regards, Gerko Zielman The Netherlands

I have two Vector Graphic 4 CP/M computers that my wife would very much like me to get rid of. One of them may even still work, but I'm not sure. Cosmetically, they're almost like new, having been in storage for about 15 yrs. I have all of the manuals, and would like to see them go somewhere other than the computer-recycling service. Time is running out for these two beasts, if you have any interest or any suggestions for saving them. I'd be glad to e- mail photos.

That depends on which Morrow system it is, but I'd say that there are better ways to sell it then a tag sale.

eBay could work, of course, or you could try the Vintage Computer Marketplace at marketplace.vintage.org. You can also post a free ad on our forums. Just click on Discussion Boards at the top or bottom of this page.

Best of luck!

Erik

Dad was thinking about putting the Morrow and printer, monitor out on the lawn for a tag sale. Is the Morrow worth more than a tag sale? Don't see any prices. Guidance would be appreciated.
