Does anyone remember an early monochrome PC game called Space War or some such? I remember it had pretty nice graphics effects. I especially liked the hyperspace effect (you would break up into lots of particles and then the particles would come back together in the new position). I've been looking for it but can't seem to locate it. IIRC it was a shareware game. Now that I have a nice machine to run it on (thanks Darshevo!) I'd like to play it.

http://ftp.math.utah.edu/pub/ibmpc/spwar171.arc Nice game, indeed... And pretty unusual in that it utilized high-res monochrome graphics, contrary to vast majority of games back then which ran in low-res color modes. |

I didn't although I was a bit awestruck but per the other PDP programmer that was working he seems to beat most people but will play if ya ask him.
