Default Old monochrome game "Space war"

Does anyone remember an early monochrome PC game called Space War or some such? I remember it had pretty nice graphics effects. I especially liked the hyperspace effect (you would break up into lots of particles and then the particles would come back together in the new position). I've been looking for it but can't seem to locate it. IIRC it was a shareware game. Now that I have a nice machine to run it on (thanks Darshevo!) I'd like to play it.

Thanks,
tjb

Thanks much! I believe you are right. It looks like a member may have posted a link to the version I am looking for. BTW, I like your slow down projects! Cool stuff.

PC version, for CGA, HGC, and AT&T:

Nice game, indeed...
And pretty unusual in that it utilized high-res monochrome graphics, contrary to vast majority of games back then which ran in low-res color modes.

Thanks for the link! That's the one. It never occurred to try Moby Games but they have it listed here including screenshots:

I can't almost hear the PC sounds from the game now.. chirp chirp chirp (blaaaazzhzhz) heh. Yeah I loved that game on my old computer. If you ever have a chance to make it out to the Computer History Museum in CA (San Jose?) make sure to check out the restored PDP-1 they have and ask if Steve Russell is working and you can play the author on the original equipment

I didn't although I was a bit awestruck but per the other PDP programmer that was working he seems to beat most people but will play if ya ask him.
