The machine is not much in comparison to the Tandy 100.I guess i'll use the Tandy to practice.

Yeah, for practicing BASIC on a portable you can do a lot worse than the M100; instant on, great keyboard, long battery life, etc. I don't know if you know it, but with a few exceptions (Mainly the cursor positioning and pseudo-ops) the M100 BASIC is compatible with GW-BASIC, so much of what you write will also work on a PC with few or no modifications (especially if you put the PC in 40-column mode).
The little pocket computers were most useful as programmable calculators; navigation aids, complicated interest calculations, that sort of thing (and always games of course). You might find some useful programs out there that you can adapt to the vTech.
